What's next?

So, I'm already curious about what type of role Gaga will play next.
If you look at her three biggest roles up to now you can see three different types;

The countess was a high-status role that didn't gave Gaga that much space as an actor to 'play' with. The character mainly hided or suppressed her feelings and it's really hard to play without that much emotions. Sure, the role had some depth-moments and layers to dive in, which Gaga absolutely did fine, but overall the countess was a stately character to play, with a 'self-assurance' body language.

Ally was a low-status role that gave Gaga much more to play with; naivety, innocence and the character's sincere ignorance. Due to the type of film this role contained lifelike emotions like insecurity, love and grief. Those emotions made the audience easily relate to the character and made them able to put thereselfs in her shoes. Ally had a 'neutral' body language, which means it fluctuate and it's depend on your emotional state. She transistioned from insecure to (more) secure. 

Patritzia is a role that starts with a low-status but who is in desperate need for a high(er) one. During the movie she managed to get that higher status but eventually lose herself. This role got a lot of emotions to play out and because of the campy style (and accent) Gaga had to act a bit 'bigger' with this one. She had to play with thickening the emotions every now and then. Patritzia undoubtedly is a woman with a big amount of emotional outliers and as an actor myself I can tell you that characters with big outliers are the most complex yet joyfull to play! Despite the soapy vibe House Of Gucci's got, a role like Patrizia still contains some kind of 'reservation' for the actor. That's because of the realistic world in which the story takes place and due to the true & human nature of the characters.

What's next? I personally hope that it will be less 'human' and further away from realism. A character Gaga could 'create' instead of the more portraying ones. I would love to see her play a role in a non-existent & imaginative world, with an extreme emotion or (super) power as the basis of her acting. For example; the classic villain where she's been able to go fully mad & mental. Or the all-time hero in a fairytale or apocalyptic environment. I also definitely can see her play some kind of 'narrator' where she's breaking the fourth wall and take the viewer on adventure right into the story. A role in a musical-movie such as Les Miserables or Sweeney Todd would not look out of place for her either. Gosh, our girl is so versatile.

Comedy, I would be here for it

i think it’s not a bad idea to give gaga extravagant characters. It’s what we expect from her, it’s what she does well honestly. I mean excels at it

and there’s many variations to being grand, campy, big personality with some peculiarities, idk something that is a bit out there. Or that have a range for her to insert this aspect of her own style into giving life to her characters.

Id like her to play a character that is not famous or grand. Ordinary woman with a simple yet very heartwarming story, that we can relate to. Indie film feels. No make up, raw. Not a love story, maybe about family, work, life.

If she wants another big role, give her Cleopatra already. She likes that role right (Vogue interview) Though i think i saw somebody already took it, Jolie?

Or... maybe a role in House of the Dragon at some point

I would like her to play something other than a singer and Italian  I get that she did those roles to warm her up for something bigger, but it's kind of expected.

I really want to see her OWN scenes. I want her to have monologues that make you cry and you can't look away and you're hanging on to every word she says. 

Not a romance or musical or dark villain. I think after Gucci she is ready to really dominate. After all, The Countess, Scathach, Ally, and Patrizia are all very....over the top and make-believe. I'd like to see her in a drama, no camp, and really just break our hearts. ASIB was sad but we were expecting it. What if she played like a mom who's child was murdered and she's trying to find the killer OR I'd love her in a thriller/horror where she's the sole survivor.

Boring af. That's not what most of us want from Gaga. You can't be a star in a movie like that.

I'd love to see her in a thriller with the odds stacked against her  possibly like the call or kidnap with Halle Berry. Something a little dirty and rough.

No high fashion or stylising to fall back on just desperation to survive/save herself.

I think she'd smash that out the park

Imagine her in something like Marriage Story tho (not just cuz Adam driver was in that) but a real woman 

not a stereotype or archetype necessarily like countess, ally and patrizia are but a whole separate 3 dimensional character with their own motivations and backstory, some one that feels real, not a list of stereotypes like “Joanne”

Omg thank you for wording this better than I could  Yes a completely new character that wasn't a movie star (countess) or singer or Italian. Something completely unrelated to Gaga.
