Definitely understand where you are coming from, but that scene alludes to what actually happened. All this time later, fans have been anticipating this song for nearly 10 years (since she has mentioned the 10 minute version since its release) similar to how someone anticipates a book release and goes to a premier reading for it. And while she's reading it, the person its about is also watching. I thought it was really symbolic.
