What does this even mean lol. She’s way beyond the status of needing #1s even though any re-recordings of hers are likely to go #1. Confused why it wouldn’t be worth it; this is for the fans and also for her to own HER music

I guess! I was exclusively talking about the old songs getting less/little play to make the deal her old manager made not worth it. Seems like that is one of the motivations. I could even see a world where this strategy worked so well her old recordings are sold back to her. But I guess if she just wants to own these recordings just because, then mission accomplished.

That’s not guaranteed at all. She wants to own her music! And this is a brilliant way to do so

I love hearing all these older songs with her "new" voice. And the arrangements are pretty amazing.

The only one I don't love is ATW(10 minutes version). As someone mentioned before, it sounds way too poetic and lowkey cringy, like it was something she wrote in 2021. It doesn't have the simplicity of the old lyrics. If it's really something she wrote back in 2011 then I'm thankful to whomever told her to shorten ATW to 5 minutes only.

Better Man, Nothing New, Message in a Bottle, The Very First Night, All Too Well Extended are all top tier

With the exception of We Are Never (...) Together every other song sounds just as good, if not better than back than

Her goal is simply to own all her music. The order she's releasing doesn't seem to have much influence over what songs are the most popular, etc. She was never given the chance, and was denied the opportunity to buy her songs back. She already owns the writing credits to the songs that were recorded while she was under Big Machine, so she's able to stop them from being used in promotion material. To use it in advertising, etc., you'd need the writer's permission as well as the the master recording permission, which falls under the label for most songs by most artists prior to this. That's the only reason she's re-recording these albums.
