What I mean is that maybe he is saying that she has pressed the right buttons to become hugely successful (today) in the same way as Lennon and McCartney did (in their day).

Personally, I prefer the Beatles to Taylor, and I prefer Gaga to Taylor, but that's subjective. Objectively, she is a very talented singer/songwriter who has hit the motherload.
