NFRatwell 23,290
After hearing that Gaga was suffering while making Chromatica, and suffering while making Haus Of Gucci, does that affect the way you enjoy the art? It seems a common trend now everytime gaga promotes a project that she mentions how she’s had to either tap into a dark place or was in a terrible mental state. ARTPOP, Joanne, ASIB (remember how she had to leave the character the moment they finished recording), Chromatica, Haus Of Gucci. She always seems to allude to the fact that she’s a martyr for her art, and I’m curious how that makes you feel as a consumer of her art.

The Fame 4,132
No, it's not harder to enjoy. Two reasons: Suffering is simply part of the human condition, and hearing about and interpreting an artist's work can help with your own struggles and feelings of connectedness to other people. And two: Remember, the artist chose to put that work out there. Sad songs are written down and recorded on purpose, sad roles are auditioned for on purpose, etc.

enissa11 2,984
no, i just appreciate for what it is, that's the very thing that attracts me and makes it interesting to me, i can't stop gaga's suffering, what i can do is walk this tortured path with her and hope she will slowly alleviate it and learns to live with it Mad Architect of Light
Babel 41,249
Most of the best art the world has ever seen comes from pain.
JohnWayne92 2,113
As an artist who uses the darkness that is in me, and the darkness I’ve encountered in the world, it’s cathartic to get it out. For Gaga, she heals with it, which is something I find myself doing as well. She talks about how getting the songs out or the performance out helps her heal, and it’s true. To me, it’s much more inspiring and enjoyable to know how much someone put into something, especially when they use darkness to create something beautiful. littlepotter 74,587
All the work I do, I do it while suffering because I hate working so Gaga is probably the same and it's not that big of a deal chaeri pls
Chromatica Island 8,517
No, Chromatica is the most relatable album to me and I will be forever grateful for her making it, it just makes me sad that she can't enjoy it like me. It's a therapeutic album for me and her best body of work, I do hope she finds the courage to perform some of the songs in the future and if she doesn't, I will be ok with that too! SharkmanthaC 111,669
I think it makes me appreciate it more. Knowing that it comes from a place of genuine emotion and heartache really makes it real to me. Not just words to a song that mean nothing. I can appreciate the pain the artist has gone through to be vulnerable enough to release something like that. she/her/hers
