She is and will continue being a pop star I mean, I hope she can do what makes her feel happy. If she needs to vent out her frustration, I'm more than happy to support her if she makes a punk rock album. If she wants to express her feelings with Jazz, I don't mind a new jazz album. If she wants to make an R&B album to sing about love and whatnot, I'd be happy to support as well. I guess what I'm trying to say is that she may not want to be a full on pop star even if it means making music that is non-pop. But I will be gutted if she doesn't make music as Lady Gaga instead going the route of writing music for others or making soundtracks for movies. Mister G 10,421
You can absolutely tell she was in emotional pain with Alice, Rain On Me, Fun Tonight, 911, Plastic Doll, Replay, Sine From Above and 1000 Doves. I’m glad she is happier now and you can she is so full of energy during her Vegas shows. We love her regardless and why are people so pressed if she shared similar sentiments after ARTPOP and Joanne? Let her be her; no one knows entirely what she goes through daily, they’re her stories and experiences and people criticizing because they feel she sticks to that script are invalidating her struggles. Even in sharing her pain to create joy for others people still drag her.
gothicdream 39,546
The insensitivity in some of these comments. Yes, she has said this about multiple albums. Because she obviously struggles with her mental health on an ongoing basis. Everyone wants a mental health story that wraps up neatly and you're just happy and "normal" again but that's not reality. I have had multiple periods in my life where every day I've thought about killing myself. That doesn't make any of of those times less valid than another. Right now I'm doing okay. But it'll probably happen again someday. There are albums I would listen to during those times and I can't listen to them anymore because it reminds me what those times were like. I imagine that is much more intense when it is your own music you wrote about your own struggles. Music has seemed to be her coping mechanism. I am grateful she shares it with us and I don't need or want her to ever do anything with the music again past that point if it causes her pain. Let's try to show more empathy to her. Joanne was derived from Gaga's feelings surrounding her family's generational trauma. Chromatica derived from Gaga not even wanting to be herself. With ARTPOP, I believe it was more of the course of the era that was traumatic (including her injury + possible burnout from BTW Ball). I really feel for her though. Mental health is an extremely non-linear journey, and sometimes it doesn't just "go away" or "lighten up". Gaga has obviously been through a lot in her life, so obviously that would reflect in her everyday emotions thus her music.
hijadeputa 3,933
Pls Gaga you say this about every album released To be honest when Chromatica was released I was in a dark period and I took me out of it, one year later, today, I listen to Chromatica and can enjoy the piece of art that it is, I know it healed me in some way and I celebrate it. Same goes with ARTPOP. But I wish she could be more positive about her albums, it’s getting boring reading that every pop album she created thus far, that she was feeling sad etc. How do you then want your fans to celebrate your past work? Period

You'd rather she lied about what the experience of this album was like for her, than to speak her truth and try to help others who are struggling? You think fans celebrating her past work is more important than her wellbeing?

GagaUnderYou 4,981
I mean as speculated before, this was more of Bloodpop’s project and not her own. I don’t understand why she just didn’t scrap the album like she is known to do when she isn’t happy with something. I hope she realizes her pain & art she puts out gives her fans hope and heals them. Hopefully, she is able to put those emotions aside and channel it into the music. It would have been nice do have all the songs performed at least once. I hope she able to re-shift and heal with the release of ARTPOP ACT II with revised concept and ideas. with this statement, the tour will most likely be cancelled. She’ll stick to Vegas for a while more before she probably sticks to acting a little more permanently or even retire to have a family.
