Today, he is telling me he will come to my wedding and him and his girlfriend will travel with me and my boyfriend. He even stands up for gay people when someone says something homophobic. If I just left him 7 years ago, this 100% would not have happened but now it will send ripple effects across our social circles and this is how true change happens in society. The knee-jerk reaction a lot of people have towards comments like this just proves her point. If you're not supporting one side, you're canceled. No discussion, no nuance. She's the same Madonna who pushed the envelope for decades and got people thinking differently. I don't think I'd be friends with her in person but I've always admires that she says what she thinks and can obviously still push people's buttons today. It’s a bit misleading to say she even implies that. She’s sometimes out of touch with reality but not that much, and she has the right to give her opinion about it.
