Queen Elizabeth II Asked To Rest By Her Doctors & Cancels Trip Plans

Queen Elizabeth II has reluctantly accepted medical advice to rest for a few days and has canceled a trip to Northern Ireland, Buckingham Palace said Wednesday.

The palace didn’t offer specifics on the decision, but says the 95-year-old monarch is “in good spirits,″ and disappointed that she will no longer be able to visit Northern Ireland for engagements Wednesday and Thursday.

“The Queen sends her warmest good wishes to the people of Northern Ireland, and looks forward to visiting in the future,″ the palace said.

She is resting at Windsor Castle, where she has stayed since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic last year. The decision to cancel the trip was understood to not be COVID related.

The decision comes just days after Elizabeth was seen using a walking stick at a major public event when attending a Westminster Abbey service marking the centenary of the Royal British Legion, an armed forces charity.

She had previously been photographed using a cane in 2003, but that was after she underwent knee surgery.

Britain’s longest-lived and longest-reigning monarch, Elizabeth is due to celebrate her Platinum Jubilee — 70 years on the throne — next year.

Could this be the beginning of the end? What a life she had, I always pity her when I see her. So weird because I'm broke, and she's wealthy, she lives in a palace for god's sake, but behind the scenes we know now it's a prison. I think I need to read a book about her for more information, but she never asked for this life, it was just fate, and she sacrificed a good life for a life of public scrunity and "service". As a teen I had such hatred towards her when I'd see her, but she did influence a little bit of history, she is a smart cookie, and very courageous too, but I pity her. Her life has been walking through a historical luxurious corridor shaking hands and wearing symbolisms on her head, and chest. Imagine just being a symbol, your whole life, your individualism is taken away, nobody will know you, they'll know the symbol and love the symbol, they'll respect the symbol, you are the statue of liberty people look up to and take pictures of. What a waste of a life if it was me, I respect her for that, I would have a mental breakdown personally
