Minimum marketing for Gaga's releases?

So, just a thought. I understand different companies are at play here, but why are they doing bare minimum marketing on Gaga's recent releases?

Dawn of Chromatica is a remix album, so I can understand but even that has considerably more marketing than the next 2 releases.

Love for Sale. There was marketing but not like the ones we see for C2C. 60 minute and Westfield is all it was. During C2C, we see various channels of sales and posters etc.

House of Gucci. So far only 1 official trailer and 2 similar posters with just a month til release? With such a star-studded cast, you would think they will attract more attention. Right now there's no talk for the movie at all.

You can argue about the pandemic but with how much press is resuming, talk shows returning and tv productions returning to normal-ish, you would think there will be more promotion activities lined up for new movies.

I am seriously disappointed at her team's marketing towards the Gucci movie. Do you guys remember how the GP knew about ASIB 2 months before it's release? A month before the ASIB hype was h u g e. The biggest cinema in all of scandinavia here with over 800 seats was 90% sold  out, even in eastern europe there were massive billboards etc etc.

While for Gucci they are just releasing posters with differenposes. It's like they're thinking that the cast will attract the viewers, which was a huge mistake for The Last Duel.. I am slowly getting tired of how whenever Gaga has been involved in something there was minimal promo effort, sometimes not even that. So if they don't move the finger, and the movie flops I won't be glad, but imma just say that how much you put in, that's how much you get back. Hopefully Ga, and her team will realize this soon enough

Maybe the difference with the Gucci movie is that there are some huge names associated with the film, so perhaps that alone gets people into cinemas. With ASIB I feel like more was riding on its success, if that movie flopped it would of been a disaster for both Gaga and Bradley’s debuts.

Not the bore worms!

ASIB was hyped because of festival buzz. HoG promo will start next month when it actually premieres and the cast does the rounds. I don't understand the frustration here tbh.

i might be wrong but i think with the last duel receiving mixed reviews, ridley really wants HoG to be an oscar competitor. so i think they would start the promo shortly before the movie and then all of a sudden it would be everywhere and then the buzz from the promo, the actual movie release n the cast would keep it hyped till the oscars. just my thought

Where's the spunk, Adam?

stop panicking for marketing, honestly i hope the movie to be polarizing with mixed critics because is that good and bold and it's not everyone's cup of tea, those are the real good movies for me, and over time they become classics and cult followed, i don't care about shitty oscars either, but i hope she gets the praise she deserves at some point.

I mean, ASIB went viral because of the good music in the trailer. I hardly think people were interested in the story because it's a remake. But the success of the movie was really due to various factor that contributed to the conversation around the movie. But yea, we still see lots of buzz because we see Gaga and Bradley doing the press rounds, attending film festivals. It was a true Hollywood spectacle.

HoG is more like the traditional film roll out but by now we should be seeing more things about the movie coming out. Even if it's just articles about the story etc.

I hope so. This movie is meant to show that Gaga can be a character actor. It will contribute to her acting credibility if she pull it off.

The fact they're releasing on Thanksgiving is a bit worrisome to me. Do people go watch movies on Thanksgiving holidays? I thought most will be back at home with their families.  Maybe I'm overthinking.

It worked well for Knives Out in 2019.

I think the draw was Chris Evans. He has a wider fanbase spectrum.

I think he added to its success, but outside of the Marvel franchise he isn't really a box office draw. His movie Gifted in 2017 only made $43 million in total.
