I guess the only genre of music that exists in your world is pop music? Adele is not a Britney or a Taylor. She isn’t that type of artist. She isn’t a performer- but a vocalist. If you don’t like her, that’s your choice. But she is far from the female version of Ed Sheeran. Their music sounds nothing alike.

Knowing how much Ed cares about charts, I'm willing to bet he moves his release. Otherwise, there's no way he's beating her.

Why's everyone saying he's going to move his release date? He's releasing 3 weeks before her, so...? Anyway, I'm glad to see Ed have some kind of competition around the same time he's putting out his album (ABBA the week after him too and Taylor the week after that) because he's had a monopoly over the most successful album of the year for his last two albums and his debut was a huge hit too, he's always been lucky that way. For the first time ever, he's facing actual competition, which I think every big name needs to receive from time to time to make them humble. But Adele needs some major competition too, the fact she's always the biggest artist whenever she releases is clearly keeping her work very stagnant if Easy On Me is anything to go by. She has no major reason to change to survive against upcoming artists, so why should she? But her reign can't last forever. I'm so glad Gaga released Chromatica last year. When Covid struck, so many of us were saying she'd delay it to 2021 and I'm so glad the delay was minor as that could have changed her fortunes for the worse.
