This video is very interisting, and sums up the 2010s. Even tho the guy also add songs that influenced the way we promote sell and consume songs:

Kylie Minogue’s Can’t Get You Out of My Head. It helped her secure her relevance in the 2000’s even further and it also was one the most popular songs in that decade when it comes to airplay and covers. And needless to say, all some people need to hear is the “la, la, la” hook and they will recognise it!

so i have to add two youtube birthed songs?

There can be more than one song that came from YouTube yknow

YouTube is the artist of the song.

Crazy Frog shows the us power of a viral video and song

Friday just confirms virality on YouTube

Harlem Shake is the first YouTube challenge that propelled a song to the top of the charts

Gangnam style wasn’t a “challenge” it was viral in the same way Friday was but it deserves to be there tor ushering kpop into the mainstream

Friday did nothing other than be viral

please enlighten me to death

was san francisco before the mamas and the papas song?

totally agree on the mambo rock by perez prado, iconic

bob dylan even have a nobel award but i don't know much about him guys

The Mamas & the Papas had success 2 years before Scott McKenzie, but San Francisco song was the hymn of the flower power

thank you finally some alternative bops even tho idk if they were CULTURE RESETS someone help!

and btw we need some of that trashy emo movement that exploded in the mid 2000s

I think they were of their specific genre cultural resets, especially for depeche mode and muse.

This also introduced kpop to the mainstream

no kpop acts were performing on American television in 2009, they actually broke barriers

I'm crafting a cute little playlist with only CULTURE RESETS

I'm ordering trough decades but ngl i'm struggling due to my limited knowledge

Can you reccomend me CULTURE RESETTERS that changed the course of music? specially in past decades and back up your suggestion?

Some things i struggling with:

- Was Blinding Lights the song that introduced the 80s sound back in the late 10s? It was release in November 2019 Or was Don't Start Now? In October 2019? Or none of them?

- Was Just Dance the song that introduce dance-electro pop in the late 00s?

- Was La Isla Bonita a deal breaker? Or were others before that had that latin pop vibe?

Also this is a collaborative playlist so if you have a spotify please feel free to add your sound defining bops.

Don’t Start Now helped kick off the Disco revival that we experienced last year.

Blinding Lights definitely did reintroduce the 80’s sound when it was released in 2019. The aesthetic for that era was heavily inspired by New Wave as well.
