And what would happen to them?

It is a civil suit. In the event of a default judgment, she will most likely be granted damages ($$). Ultimately, if Nicki or hubby are found civilly liable, it could aid a criminal prosecution as the case will need to be prosecuted for any form of criminal charges to be brought. Any admissions within the civil suit could be used against them in a criminal suit. More often then not, prosecutorial bodies wait for civil matters to conclude to pursue criminal charges in the interest of judicial economy or with the hope of building their case. In short, if she is granted default judgment, she will get all that she asked for and what ever else the court deems just and equitable. She will most likely NOT get a default judgment however, because the attorney for Nicki and hubby will get off on a technicality--like the response deadline being ambiguous or Hough's attorney being not so forthcoming with trial information. Default judgments are rarely awarded to litigants represented by attorneys, unless of course the judge is particularly unforgiving or the evidence is so clear it captivate's the court's conscience.
