candiedroses 408
To me, it seems like that Tony & Gaga’s version of Love For Sale is loosely based off of Miles Davis’ instrumental version of the song. All of the other versions, like Ella Fitzgerald’s, are much slower. I just find it really cool that Gaga & Tony chose to do this version rather than the slower one, typically used in vocal covers of the song.
JazzGa 14,621
That's really interesting, thank you for sharing! Whatta bop That's one of my favorite things about jazz music-- musicias aren't as egotistical about sharing songs, phrases, melodies, unlike in today's pop music climate where nobodies try to sue successful artists over chord progressions and 2 note loops Like imagine if singers still weren't shy about multiple people putting out versions of the same great song, and several of our faves covered iconic songs like The Joke, I'll Never Love Again, Young and Beautiful, etc. That would be a great alternate reality My old cat is a tough man, but i cant deny the way he bites my hand and he stabs me, he grabs me by my heart <
