I'm Breathless was the closest she's had to a "jazz" era. She's dabbled many times over the years.

I've never heard that version of Fever!! Thanks for sharing!

You remind me that it's such a wonderful thing to love.

Not exactly rap, but Bedtime Stories was an R&B album

and of course she "raps" in American Life, but it was more of a satire

I forget what a fvcking force of nature she was.

That American Life song was so amazing. Released 18 years too early but also right on time. The way Gaga sings my ARTPOP could mean anything but Madonna 18 years ago released a song that literally means everything to different people with different POV's and that amazing video.

The lyrics about gender fluidness, or maybe trans, or maybe it's about women fighting with how feminine they should be, can be, or want to be, and how anyone in the categories or all of them struggle with body dismorphia.  Then there is the obvious war theme and consumerism. How the US sells us wars, American pride and misogynist POV against women in the same advert for coffee. And in the end how when she tries to blow up the system, a white rich man takes that same grenade to light his rich man's cigar. Like they always win. Those lyrics and that video are still so amazing. IMO.

I really disliked Madonna after what happened with her and Gaga but damn she was fvcking brilliant.
