Underwhelming comebacks?

Title. Sadly my prime example has to be Fergie's. After her stellar debut album she reunited with BEP for their successful The END and The Beginning. Hype around her follow up was big but along the way she suffered many setbacks, delays and scrapped concepts.

Finally LA Love was released as the lead single for her big comeback, but it underperformed. Second single MILF $ did better, but fell short too. Eventually Double Dutchess was underwhelming, despite its production value for making it a visual album. Fun fact: Charlie Puth revealed he worked with Fergie on a song he said was "a 2015 My Humps" but it didn't make the final cut.

What comebacks do you think where underwhelming?

How You Like That... I love this song, but no... I was waiting for something really different.

Also, Red Velvet's Queendom was such a letdown after the masterpiece of Psycho!

yes, i only mentioned kpop's comebacks.

Marina could do better too

I agree COTCC underwhelming but do you think NFR was too?
Also, the last Marina is my second fav, my tastes feel questioned :gum:

NFR was saved by the iconic Doin' Time but the rest... A choice.

And no, MY TASTE feel questioned since i think most people would agree with you :cyanlights:

Love + Fear by Marina, my gosh that was awful. But she really came to the light again with ADIAML.

I also felt like Magdalene by FKA Twigs was underwhelming after all the wait. I just wasn't immediately blown away by it like her previous stuff. But I have since come to appreciate it.

Miss Anthropocene was also super sloppy feeling considering how much time was spent on it. But that's just Grimes I guess.

Personally I'm VERY fearful for Rosalía's next album. EMQ was never going to be topped anyway, but 4 years waiting and every single beinh worse than the last, I don't have high hopes.

Doin Time is a great cover and the mv was cool but Venive B**h and The Greatest are the highlights imo

But I think we almost all agree about the one who must not be named :pole:

I feel you should be smites for these posts. NFR is my second fav from Lana. And Ancient Dreams in a Modern Land is also amazing!

Religion is a product to sell.
