Yeah but she wasn't happy. Especially when she was booked to her ears in promo and also doing the tour and then had to do the Fame perfume promotional tour which she didn't even want to do. But she was in the habit of saying yes to everyone, and didn't want to let down her fans, which led to her mental destruction, dependence on drugs, and eventually her broken hip. She's said before she felt like a windup doll that kept being wound up until it broke, she's said that breaking her hip forced her to stop, that she was living an unhealthy lifestyle, that she had to learn how to say no to things, that she's put together a team now that doesn't push her too hard etc. She only pushed herself so hard because she was too afraid to let down thousands of fans and cancel shows

The pop girls have it so hard in this industry, especially new ones. It seems like their teams just want to take advantage of the hype they currently have to milk them as much as possible. Just glad to see she’s speaking about it and hope it changes for the better.

I don’t follow Doja’s career but with the new album out and all of those performances it’s pretty obvious she must feel drained. AND she’s not even on tour yet.

Did you actually follow what she did these past few months? She released an album, performed at every award show ceremony under the sun (even hosting one), made a shitload of videos, photoshoots, interviews… You think these things materialize out of the blue? She was literally everywhere. If you don’t think she’s working hard, I don’t know who is.

Because the music industry in 2021 is starting to go back to normal in a way, I guess this sudden burst of activity in a lot of artists will start to cause them to go tired quickly. Every artist has different stamina and different bodies. Seriously, if you are going to be a performer you NEED training like crazy the way Madonna or Beyoncé do, which is why they still have so much energy so many years into their career. Gaga on the other hand has great stamina too but her health conditions, both physical and psychological hold her back. 

I hope Doja takes a well deserved rest and finds a way to make her body work through the insane popstar schedule.

more majors performances sure, but it makes 0 sense to me that she’s tired n o w after less than a year of performing with no tour when she’s literally worked harder 2018-2019.

And any other video, feature, performance, etc I might have missed. On top of magazine covers, album/single cover shoots, countless other shoots not even mentioned. Each of her awards show performances had an entirely different concept that took weeks if not months to conceptualize and practice. Her features all probably take at least a day to write and record, on top of any other promo that's shot for it including cover art, music video, etc. Her music videos probably took a month to put together, and then 2-4 dedicated shoot days. Her albums took months to record, with meetings probably spanning months ahead of release on top of promo shoots. Doja has probably had immense pressure to keep a big presence and put out material in order to solidify her in the industry, assuming she's not doing all this work because she's in debt to her label. Even Dua doesn't have 7 music videos since 2020 (excluding animated videos and  Physical too, since it was likely shot in December) and not even counting MVs for Doja's features. She hasn't toured but all of this arguably accumulates to a more stressful time than if she did the typical 2-3 awards show performances, 3 MVs, 4ish features, international tour, 1 album cycle over the typical 2-3 year period because she would have half the awards shows, half the albums and features, half the MVs, and just practiced and toured the same show and choreo for a year with some sense of consistency. I can understand why she's tired, and we're not really considering any behind the scenes that might be going on as well that could be tiring.

They are next-level and of a quality we haven't seen in a few years from a pop star. Intense choreography, entire re-arrangements of her songs like Gaga used to do, extravagant staging and props, very theatrical.

Honestly the level and quality of her live performances remind me of Gaga's back in the day. She's doing so much more than just singing the same songs with a dance. That's probably why she's burning out.
