This has been confirmed by multiple sources so as for the data no it isn’t true.

I've never heard of it and it's not a newspaper. What's coming in now from actual news sites about it being a technical issue seems far more believable. I'd be far more likely to trust what the big names in media are saying as opposed to these small enterprises. I just saw something get announced on the news about it being down as well. Maybe this source posted inaccurate information and everyone just ran with it? I wondered that too but then FB won't want to get sued if it turns out the worst happened and they intentionally lied to us. I think we fell into the trap of believing the first thing we see online without stopping to consider the validity of the source. Trust what the big name news outlets are saying, not the smaller names. No, the info is incorrect. Multiple sources have now confirmed there was no data leak. Not sure why the OP continues to say the opposite. Should put an edit in the post.
HiddenWeirdo 4,278
Honestly, some of you need to stay away from social media more than 6 hours. You are so caught up into the social media game that you easily trust unreliable sources. It‘s fake news.

The impact social media has on the world is way worse. edit: Those millions of people could actually get a job that contributes to society. Over here in the Netherlands we have more jobs than people.
