If I can find out the entire list of all relatively mainstream album releases on October 1 in less than 5 minutes, Taylor Swift, Drake and their teams are more than capable than doing so too. With that in mind, your claim that in a list of 10, or even 20 albums, they would not recognise or take notice of the names 'Tony Bennett' or even 'Lady Gaga' is quite naive imho. Not to mention Gaga has promoted it on Social for weeks, so you really want to stick with the story that Taylor Swift and Drake aren't keeping current with what another major pop artist is doing? if you think a jazz album is on par in regard to audience appeal as a drake album or taylor’s first rerelease that people have been thirsting over, then idk what to tell you. lmao

But as a reminder from a previous comment earlier that I wrote, L4S was released on Oct 1 PRECISELY because there wasn't supposed to be any other major label competition and they had no way of foreseeing that drake or taylor would be dropping their vinyls and/or cds the same day as their release. So yes, my comment still stands: releasing their major label releases on a quieter week that was picked by the L4S team precisely to avoid having too much competition for the charts isn't a great, or very respectful move. If you can't understand that with your brain cells that are allegedly superior to mine, then idk what to tell you. lmao. and i'm gonna rest this topic now bc everyone else following has understood my point

The way this woman has found ways to extract thousands of dollars from each of her fans. As in Gaga releasing 4 covers is not a way to extract money? Is a free market. Taylor and Gaga aren’t forcing fans to buy anything. It’s music business for a reason

This is a man who is releasing what is likely to be the final album of his life, a musical legend and legacy. The project was supposed to be released months ago but was postponed presumably to find a right release date without too much competition. If you look at all albums released on the day of release, TonyGaga is the only 'mainstream' album to be on that list. And then Drake and TS waltz in and decide to go #1 instead just to make sure he can't end his career with a bang. Not to mention ending Gaga's #1 streak. Please, without any delusion, tell me what Taylor Swift could possibly have against Tony Bennett.

Taylor Swift doesn't need to have anything against Tony, all she needs is to want a #1 and to think "that week where the only major release is that Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett Jazz Album seems like a good week to get back to #1". All I've been saying for the last 4 pages is that it kind of sucks for them that they went to this effort to find a week that worked for them where no one else was doing anything and Taylor Swift was supposed to drop her vinyl the same day as DOC back in September and in the end she postponed it by a month to end on the date where they were dropping theirs. I have never claimed Taylor Swift had a personal vendetta against either LG or TB, just that it's basically guaranteed she knew L4S was coming out on Oct 1, that TB has Alzeihmer's and that it would possibly be his last album (and last shot at a #1 debut) (because honestly if she didn't know, she would be living under a rock by now). So with that in mind, yeah, I think it's not the nicest thing to do, because she was thinking more of her shot to #1 than of the TB/LG debut. For an album that's already been to #1 in 2008 and then again in April of 2021 ... Don't hate me for stating the facts.

LFS isn’t even going to be 2, or 3, or 4. as someone said before, tony is doing just fine with his 61 studio albums, his legacy didn’t need this like you are implicating. made you going to bitch about albums 2-4 as well, and whatever other album will place above LFS? Five other artists would have blocked Tony/Gaga from going #1. No one was really here for a rehash of their first jazz album, sorry.. Edit: nine other artists would have blocked Tony/Gaga
