BUtterfield 8 41,818
Dollar Tree is breaking the mold and will sell items in some locations that exceed the tantalizing $1 grab-n-go price. Witynski said this week that Dollar Tree is a “test-and-learn” company, and they’ll be watching how customers react. The company had already begun testing higher prices at several hundred of its nearly 8,000 locations in a section of the store called “Dollar Tree Plus” with items that can go for as much as $5. Items that can go for $1.25 to $1.50 will soon be found in the mix at some locations amid the typical assortment of $1 products. Source

Alannah 2,988
TikTok and other influencer-based apps/sites are making companies realize that all encompassing consumers will pay 5x the original price point. It's part of the reason drug store cosmetic brands have been raising their costs as well. I think it's a shame considering how many folks rely on those lower prices. But, after all, business comes down to profit.

MadreMonster 2,584
I’m against dollar stores because the whole ideology behind their stores is to make people not think and rip off lower income communities. I obviously don’t judge the people who shop there but the executives have a nasty outlook on their business model

A total disaster.
