A Danish artist was given $84,000 by a museum to use in a work of art. When he delivered the piece he was supposed to make, it was not as promised. Instead, the artist, Jens Haaning, gave the Kunsten Museum of Modern Art in Aalborg, Denmark two blank canvases and said they were titled "Take the Money and Run."

Magic Mike

This reminds me an old scandal in Portugal where film is usually funded by a public institution , a film called Snow White in which the director bought a new car with its money and presented a movie all black/ with no image, just sound, recorded in studio

Queen Bitch

That’s not art. That’s theft.

But now you know. Just rob a bank and call it performance art and you can get away with it, plus everyone will praise it as genius

Can we not... Clever scamming is not 'art' :laughga:
For me this is more sad than funny cuz it's another example of people having too much money so they need to park it somewhere and further trash the industry in the process... Make no mistake, they were not shocked when they received those canvases, they were not looking for quality - this is what his work looks like

It's not art, it's just nothing... As much as I appreciate what some modern art has done, contemporary modern art is almost exclusively comprised of people whose sole goal is to catch attention of people who are too rich and don't want to give up their wealth in tax, so they'll offload it on anything - quality and merit doesn't matter...

It's a joke! When you give me that look, it's a joke!
