I'm watching Impeachment: American Crime Story and some critics said the writing was unfocused but as a writing student, I really thought the writing of the first two episodes was great. I truly don't see how it pales in comparison to the earlier seasons, it feels on par. Maybe some critics just have unbelievably high expectations. Yeah background score and editing are really the make it or break it factor of the movie, there was an official review of the screen play few months ago for House of Gucci, and they were raving about it. I was also rooting for it to go to the festivals maybe next month but I was thinking how ASIB received all that praise and acclaim only to peak very early in award seasons and getting snubbed! They actually seek out people who know little about film to try and get honest audience reponses from the general public. So, take all this with a grain of salt. These people could have gutter taste.
