COOOK 76,406
Back in 2013 Beyoncé fans were really going through it: her comeback was impending, but all they got was silence. Think 2018-2019 pre-LG6 era for us. Before BEYONCÉ was released, rumors were swirling about her album being called "Mrs. Carter", ahead of her Mrs. Carter World Tour: It all started before her 2013 Super Bowl performance, where she made a Pepsi commercial that seemed to tease her new era with a previously unreleased song: and much later her H&M campaign seemed to confirm the rumors of the "Mrs. Carter" album, as well as feature another new song: Who remembers this? Was there an original Mrs. Carter album with these songs but then scrapped? Grown Woman and Standing On The Sun ended up in 2014's Platinum Edition of BEYONCÉ, while I Been On was used for Homecoming

StrawberryBlond 14,820
I remember how confused everyone was. There seemed to be no official announcements of what this new era was and any song that was put out wasn't promoted and didn't even seem to be official singles so we didn't know if she was even trying to have a hit. It was all looking bleak for her and the idea that she was about to drop an entire album without warning and without pre-singles wasn't even something that entered anyone's mind. Then it happened and the rest is history, not just for her, but other artists too. Whatever you think of her, this release roll-out led to a trend that's still going and has revolutionised how we release music.
