Alien? Gladiator? Hannibal? Blade Runner? The Martian? Thelma & Louise? Even the directorial cut of Kingdom of Heaven was THAT good. Don't see "mediocrity".

Ugh yes, those you mentioned are what I meant for "one great film from one decade."(Alien: 70s,  Blade: 80s, Thelma: 90s, Gladiator: 00s, Martian: 10s) Those are his great ones. But others... please check his filmography first because most of them are clearly mediocre and even the Academy and film critics agree.  Most of his films received mixed reviews from both critics and audience. This is just a fact. :smh:

He's neither an auteur director nor someone like Spielberg who can make one great/critically-acclaimed genre film after another.

Btw, Hannibal is 6.8 on IMDb and 40% on RT... general reception is mixed to panned.

If you go to YouTube u can find a scene where Jared is speaking and it’s really awful so I guess I’m prepared for 60-70 since Ridley didn’t intervene and tell Jared that his accent is too comical which means if can’t rust Ridley anymore :bradley:

Y'all aren't ready for House of Gucci reviews. They're gonna be worse. The accents are so off and Jared Leto acting is practically comical at this point. It's gonna be a mess.

I'm so nervous for Gaga :(

I don't necessarily agree with the accents comment but I agree with the casting of Jared Leto. I don't understand it. Actor in a fat suit always reads to me like The Nutty Professor.

But maybe it will be so well done he gets an Oscar nomination. We still have to wait for the entire movie to see.

I need Gaga in a Burn After Reading/Coen brothers type film

Oh that’d be nice! I would love to see her comedy chops in something like that.

I also wish she does something with Tarantino before he retires, I know they’re friends and they tried to work something out before (little known fact: she was considered for the role of the sister of Leo DiCaprio’s character in Django Unchained).

HOG could be his great one for the 20s.  We'll see what the public thinks of it.

Yes, yes- Coen Brothers, something like Fargo!

Honestly, I think this will HELP HoG.  Ridley might want to put all of his eggs in one basket, and if HoG gets much better reviews it will be the obvious choice.  This strategy is especially likely due to the preferential ballot used for best picture (as opposed to traditional voting).

The main thing I'm worried about is Jared Leto, he's such an awful actor to me and he's going to stink up this movie. He thinks he's far better than he is too with all the Christian Bale-esque method acting shite, which makes him almost intolerable.

Gaga and the rest of the cast will do a great job I think, but I just hope Jared Leto had some extra takes to use...praying they last minute edit around him a bit after seeing the reception to his accent in the trailer 😂

First of all, Adam Driver is a busy man, huh . Good for him :applause:.

But I hope HOG gets at least good reviews :ohno: . Even if it's just for Gaga's acting :legend: .

Ew, David!
