Why it matters: The law, one the most restrictive abortion bans in the U.S., prohibits the practice after a fetal heartbeat is detected — before many people know they are pregnant. It honestly is a mindf*ck to me how people can justify stopping other people doing something that could potentially save their life (from having a safe procedure) as well as prevent a child being into poverty and suffering severely or having a debilitating genetic illness. People who say “well it offends my religion” - but that’s YOUR religion, people aren’t asking YOU to have an abortion, the same way it makes 0 sense to me people say LGBT people “offend” them.
