I dont think when people talk about this particular situation that they are thinking of those who don't have enough money or illnesses, mental or physical, but mostly about people who have none of those, have the privilege to feel healthier but don't do it and decide to use excuses to avoid doing the work. It's just logical to me that it doesnt apply to certain categories bcs of circumstances that dont make it easy for them to do any kind of change. It's the ones who can change but don't do it

I agree with you - people often don't think about those factors when talking about this topic. But that's exactly the problem.

Everyone wants to complain about the "obesity epidemic" but then refuse to examine the root causes. People would rather place the blame on individuals and treat it as a moral failure.

I get that overeating is an addiction, but you don’t need to coddle them just as much you shouldn’t coddle drug addicts or alcoholics. If they’re complaining about it, it’s a PROBLEM that needs to be addressed.

She worded in her weird, typical Kardashian way, but this is really about encouraging people to find strength within themselves to commit to their rehabilitation.

She's not wrong. I used to complain a lot about my weight and I didn't do anything to change that for years! Now I'm doing yoga and feel much better.

Yoga is where it's at

I've never known another fat person who wasn't affected by at least one of the things I mentioned.

I am fat. I grew up eating very unhealthy foods because my family couldn't afford meals that didn't come from a box. I was never taught about nutrition by my family or in school. My mother taught me growing up that eating was the best way to make you feel less sad - word for word. I was ridiculed for being overweight and became anorexic in high school. I lost weight and suddenly I was popular. In adulthood, my mental health issues grew worse and my eating disorder swung from anorexia to binge eating disorder. I doubled my weight in a period of 10 years despite consistently exercising. I've added more and more medications over the years that cause weight gain and also prevent weight loss. I have been on a weight loss drug for over 2 years, lost 40 pounds, and then gained it all back in the last 6 months due to a relapse in my eating disorder. I do what I can to counter my issues and I do my best to keep my body healthy. But my body is still fat.

That's my whole point. Most people have very complex stories behind their weight. So it's insulting to minimize it and say "just eat healthy and exercise!"

So sorry to hear about that, I completely empathize with this.

Overall weight is such a personal issue, I just think people like Khloe should be very specific maybe next time they mention overweight people who are not going through mental health issues, or any illnesses physical or mental. But maybe someone who went thru it should talk about it next time, it's true theres this stigma of fat = lazy. But there are and just like anything in life, there are some who don't make any effort and just give up, it's their lives at the end of the day, they do what they want, but it's the complaining I guess Khloe mentioned that's a problem, and maybe they have to have people around them to tell them, hey wake up, and get help.

It really is! I knew from the moment I started that I will never sweat as much as I did when doing cardio and only doing it for 3 days because it's tiring :sharon: Also, yoga makes you flexible, relaxed with no excess sweating? Sign me up :vegas:

I get where everyone is coming from, but at the end of the day, you create your own reality. As someone who suffers from binge eating, it is a daily and sometimes hourly struggle but YOU HAVE TO FIGHT IT. We can use every "factor" in the book to explain our issues or weight gain, but how do we get healthy? We get therapy and deal with our sh*t and start eating healthy and taking walks.

I'm definitely the last person to agree with anything the Kardashians say...believe me. But you can either go through life as a fighter or a victim. I choose to fight, and encourage you to do the same.

No matter how bad of a day I'm having it whatever is going on in my life, I know I can come to the mat and focus on myself and let all the other worries or insecurities slide away. Not to mention the flexibility :lolly::stalkga:

I don’t think those comments are fat phobic. She actually makes a valid point. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Agreed, she’s right.

I used to have a weight problem, and I used to complain about it a lot too, until i got off my ass and did something about it.

This myth that you need personal trainers and plastic surgery to lose weight is not true and constantly used an excuse. I did it with non of those things, i just moved alot more and stopped eating like a pig.

It’s not easy, but that’s how it is. I’m 30 kilos lighter now and it needs to be managed with weight training 4 times a week, a high step count and monitoring my food portions. I actually eat whatever i want, i just do so in moderation. It will ALWAYS be a part of my life because it has to be.

Unless there is some type of diagnosable medical problem physical or mental what she is saying is true. I don't think she is fat shaming anyone.

. She specifically said if your eating a tub of ice cream and calling yourself fat

My cousin is exactly who Khloe is talking about. Refuses to make better lifestyle choices, diet included, and her list of excuses just keeps growing. Beyond frustrating.
