I think Ryan Murphy often portrays gay men in a stereotypical, very diminutive light. It’s turned me off to his more adult-themed work, many of us don’t see ourselves in that.

But this twitter account remains correct. His series are becoming more and more boring with the same cliche characters

I think the user has a point tho, all the gay characters happen to be men by the way, and they are too stereotypical, one or two times okay but all of them being like this...

I love Ryan, but yeah he can do better

But hey we should give him credits for creating so many amazing gay characters after all

Yeah and he kind of comes across like he casts whatever flavor of the month he wants to f***.

There is NO excuse for casting Gus Kenworthy, dude couldn’t act his way out of a cardboard box.

Lana
Lana, Lana
Bo-bana, banana-fanna
Fo-fanna, fee-fi-mo-mana, Lana

watch Ratched AHstories, Nip/Tuck, Glee, etc. for more LGBTQ+ characters that are not gay men. Also, he was told not to make gay characters when he started out, guess it’s that ‘’I’m the boss’’ moment

While there is addiction and relationship problems in all communities, it has been horrific (in the horror sense) to see and portrayed from the gay perspective.
However, I’d also love to see a complex, non-cliche (dare I even say “happy”) queer representation some day in his work. Something that doesn’t emphasize the sexuality aspect—but more-so a human being existing in the world that has a decent outcome?

Forgive me for going off topic a little bit but this is what my sleep paralysis demon sings to me to sleep.
