Californian Students & Parents Stranded In Afghanistan After School Trip

At least 24 students and 16 parents from California are stranded in Afghanistan after traveling there for a summer trip.

The 40 people are from the Cajon Valley Union School District. It is unclear if the students and parents have been located amid the Taliban takeover.

I am DISGUSTED! Why are they going to Afghanistan, of all countries, for a school trip?!!

I would have to guess that the students are Afghani immigrants, or from the region.  Nothing else really makes sense.

The students and their families are part of a large community of refugees in El Cajon, California, and went abroad on trips to visit relatives, according to Serban. Serban told USA TODAY that the families are all refugees, all with legal status in the U.S., and some could have gotten their citizenship.

I understand that they miss their family, because I'm in the same boat. But if you're a refugee why would you go back? Especially since the US has been set to leave for like a year at this point? I just don't get it, I'm sorry. I still hope they make it back though.

maybe this was one of those patriotic school trips sending them to spend time at the American military facilities to show them what Murikkka is capable of and how strong Amerikkka is etc...A lot of schools do these dumb types of trips to try and engrain some form of corrupt patriotism. Could be something else though. Who knows.

Summer trips are supposed to be relaxing and educational.

Terrorism and impending doom may seen fun and scare some kids straight momentarily.

But this is just bat **** crazy.

I just want whoever planned the trip to be forcefully admitted to a rehab.
