There’s a reason we have courts and legal procedures to respect authors and creations. Being inspired is not the same as copying. They where able to prove it in a court of law. If Madonna had did this to Gaga we wouldn’t be having this same mentality and we all know that’s FACT. You do realize that US courts don’t use “legit music experts” as you guys have expressed in prior comments in the thread. They use regular everyday people LIKE GP people who have to make court appearances

Copyright infringement can take two forms: in the composition and recording of a song. Compositional copying is when somebody duplicates a section of a melody or a lyric. Sound record copying involves recorded musical, spoken, or other sounds, which is common in hip-hop.”

(Say this because I imagine Gaga felt similar when she started and how meteoric her rise was as well & how many comparisons she got) Just wanted to add that in, because I don’t want you to think i’m trying to be negative or argue, was adding on to your comment

At least Madge never demanded any kind of credit for Gaga's work, she just used it for clout. 13 | this is my dancefloor i fought for, your voice is louder, it echoes

I mean you cannot copyright the concept of making a song about self acceptance and lgbtq+.

"Sympathy for the Devil" and "Waterfalls" exist but yeah let's give all the credit to Express Yourself. 3 hours ago, sexy said: like, sing the choruses out loud. BTW and Express Yourself, melodically, sound nothing alike. This. And the melody that made them sound similar (BTW's chorus and EY's "So if you want it right now make him show you how...") are placed differently on their structure so it's not identical to be called plagiarism. ι'м ρυℓℓιηg үσυя sтяιηgs

Killa 17,460
I just think its petty of paramore to sue for credits. Not that its hard to prove the case but its just easy money. Come forth and say youre happy to inspire new generation
