Cher said Madonna was rude to her at a party, and Cher has had a casual disdain for her ever since. Often talking about her interviews, etc.

There's quite a few celebrities that don't like her, it seems :bear:

Both my faves (Gaga and MJ) had issues with her too :rip:

You're stinky

Bling

Ok totally random but I met KD Lang at a Whole Foods in Portland Oregon. I'm a huge fan and went up to her and said "Are you KD Lang?" and she just looked at me, smiled, and put her finger over her lips to "shhhh"  I was so starstruck!

Wait….. wasn’t there a rumor Madonna has a new song coming out with another legend or something. :wtfga:

Dude, if Madonna and Cher teamed up it’ll be the collab of the millennia.

The Blessed Madonna clarified that the track she was working on wasn't for Madonna. So the duet stuff is false.

Cute, I always wondered why she always called her Madge tho. Is there any formative history on that? Lol

you read my mind … i want to know too

Madge was a nickname she was given in the 80s, like Jacko for Michael Jackson

I believe it was never really used outside North America

What Cher forgot to point out is that at that time she had a crush on Sean Penn, who was already Madonna's boyfriend (or maybe they were already married), and she didn't do anything to hide it (she always had a thing for younger men)

Probably Madonna's attitude was due to this, in any case she never commented on it.

(obviously these are just rumours from a pre-internet era, so it's probably all true lol)

Madge was actually a nickname coined by the UK press and often used by her British ex-husband, Guy Ritchie.

the roots of the nickname is actually meant to be short for “Her Majesty”

please enlighten me to death

I remember Guy Ritchie used to call her “the Missus” which she loathed lol

I didn’t know Madge was British tho, thanks !

It has been used for her in the UK for a long time.

It's a play on words for both Madonna and Her Madgesty, because she's the "queen of pop".

not correct.....It came from the UK and was used almost exclusively by the UK as a nickname.  Madonna also said in an interview the word Madge means different things to different  people.  It can mean a boring old house wife ......but to others for her, was short for Majesty.  I tend to think the press was referring to the first definition ....
