Well, I don’t like revealing my own business. But I personally haven’t got vaxxed yet. And it’s not because I’m an antivaxxer. It’s just my extreme anxiety makes me nervous about it and on top of it, I do have a lot of underlying medical conditions such as type one diabetes, a thyroid condition and a heart condition. So I genuinely just worry I *may* get sicker from it.. I’m more than willing to get it done if someone helped and pointed me in the right direction with information. My doctor said I should have been one of the first to get the vaccine but I just am extremely scared of it, which I know is silly. On top of everything else, I don’t go out. I only go out maybe once a month if that because my anxiety issues. But, that’s my story. That’s why I asked the question I asked.

These headlines do nothing but fuel hate. What will we do against those who do not want to vaccinate? Will we arrest them? Will we shoot them? Will we kill them? I don't like this witch hunt

We don't have to do anything to them. The hospitals are full of unvaccinated people right now. They're doing it to themselves. Where the problem comes is that they are getting others sick (and most concerning are those that can't be vaccinated like children). They are also using up hospital and medical resources which is making for some scary situations in places. Look at Florida where they don't even have full ambulance services because of the number of covid cases.

I think your reasons are valid to some extent tbh. I suggest you talk to more than one health professionals and get more than one opinion on your conditions and how they interact with the vaccine. I know people with diabetes who have gotten vaxxed and it went very well, same with heart conditions, but maybe having more than one problem could be an issue. So yeah I suggest you seek medical opinions and see what they say. And always keep in mind that COVID will always be worse than the vaccine!

If your doctor said you should have been the first one for the vaccine, it is most likely safe for you. However if you're self isolating, you aren't posing a risk to others. When you go out like once a month though you are putting others and yourself at risk. I would talk to your doctor about how the shot makes you anxious and ask for a recommendation. Maybe they can give you some medication so you can get through the anxiety of getting it.

Honestly, potentially catching covid is more dangerous with these conditions than the vaccine would be. Before delta was a thing, 25% of cases of severe illness from covid infections were diabetics. I'm sure that number is similar or worse now among the unvaccinated.

As far as I know, the people who have to be concerned are ones with autoimmune diseases and/or allergies to certain vaccines.

I respect you for being so open with us and I totally get that you're scared, given your situation.

The vaccines used are save. That said, in my country there is a help centre for people who want to know more about getting vaccinated in the light of their medical conditions. You might want to look into that?

Have you talked with your doctor about the pro's and con's of getting a vaccin? Like what are the potential risks for your health situation if you get Covid?

This 100%. It's hard to think rationally and spare a thought for people who refuse the vaccine when their idiotic decisions are forcing us to literally ration 911 services and running water

Another example: Lebanon. We're already going through a horrible financial crisis and medical supplies are practically nonexistent at this point. Yet ICUs are constantly being filled with COVID cases because the majority is refusing to get vaccinated. 89% of our hospitalized cases are unvaccinated. They're unfairly putting people who really need whatever medical supplies that are left at high risk of death because they simply don't feel like getting 2 jabs of a vaccine. Not to mention that they're also putting the already-exhausted and underpaid and overall destroyed medical staff at risk on top of that.

I don't know how many times it needs to be said? But when you don't have any medical reasons threatening you should you get the vaccine, it is just a selfish act not to get the vaccine. If this video shows anything, it's that a 3 year old is fighting for their life because of the unvaccinated. It isn't a climate of hate when a decision is literally killing people.

Thanks for being nice about the situation. I know people who don’t get the vaccine is a touchy subject and can cause anger amongst others. As for talking to my doctor - I’ve talked to my diabetes doctor about it before but I kinda shut her down right away when we started talking about me being one of the first to have been vaxxed, because of my anxiety. I have an appointment coming up in September with her again, so I’ll get more into detail with her about it. Luckily she doesn’t mind long appointments, I was in there for over an hour chatting with her before about stuff. Lol. I wish there was an option to get the vaccine with her because I’m more comfortable with her than just walking into some random pharmacy. I do have a pharmacy I deal with but it’s within walking distance and I unfortunately can’t go walking around in this heat. So I need to come up with an alternative with that also. It’s just a lot of different reasons why I haven’t got it yet and it upsets because I do want to do the right thing and protect myself. Also, I’ve heard a lot of horror stories about the vaccine like for example with my sister. She got the vaccine and was EXTREMELY sick for a couple days afterward. I know it’s only temporary but I feel sick everyday as it is without doing anything. So I hope that sheds some more light on my situation with it.

hey, I don't know your situation and don't want to be pushy or nosy, but we live in the same area and there may be options for you other than just walking to pharmacy. We have mobile vaccination teams that can come to your house if you qualify, the region has a team giving free rides to clinics, if you're on ODSP I think they have a ride program and primary care doctors are doing them too. PM me if you want my help working through solutions!

Well that wrong because vaccinated people are rarely being treated in hospitals. 97% of hospitalizations due to Covid-19 are from unvaxed people. She caught it from an unvaccinated person who gave it to her mom who brought it home. 

It's really quite simple. It's pretty much math. It is 97% likely that her mom brought COVID-19 home from an unvaccinated person who she treated at the hospital.
