its an okay album. I mean, comparing it to her previous albums, it all seems like a throwaway comparatively.

The number seems high given how harsh the review is. But I agree with most of the points. I have no desire to listen to it much after the first time through. I really dislike her choices here.

some of its best lyrics,

What do you think are its best lyrics? I am honestly curious because I feel like the lyrics are extremely weak and I want to know which ones stand out to people as good. Because maybe I'm missing something.

This album is literally a 9 for me. It’s perfection honestly. It’s a VERY specific style and if you don’t like it, you’re gonna hate it.

happily I grew up with music like this so it’s perfect :)

I'd give it a 9, it's really good. A timeless kind of album :diane: gives me Joanna Newsom vibes

So much this.

Idk the age of the people who didn't like it but I'm in my 30s and I found the confessional nature of her lyrics very compelling. A lot of what she's talking about I definitely wasn't thinking about at 24. I also share many similarities with the themes of the album (meditation, marijuana, yoga, coming of age, etc) so perhaps this album is for a very select audience or maybe if you listen to it later in life, you'll appreciate more where she's coming from.

Some of you are going to come for me for saying this, but idc: I think you are finally seeing Lorde's music as what it is. It is ok, it's not great. Never got why people were so obsessed about it or speak about as if it's anything else but ok. That's it for me.

I’m sorry, but this album is everything, but boring lol

Like she shifts between sounds, tempos and themes every other song on the album

I can understand that some songs lack memorable melodies, but to say it’s boring cmon just say you hate Lorde and has been waiting your whole life to drag her when she’s not in her strongest moment

Why does everyone want her to do Melodrama again????

Literally no clue lmao. It's funny how stans keep screaming GROWTH!!! and CHANGE!!! at female artists then the second they do that, they suddenly go all "oh but we wanted your previous sound again u succ".

Soft, soothing, and succulent

Some of the replies here... :triggered: People like me actually like this kind of music, so stop generalizing it as a bad or boring album. Anyway, it's a solid project and a 9/10 for me! Love the lyrics and the production. Lorde showed GROWTH!

Red wine, cheap perfume and a filthy pout.

I think, it's not about which kind of music, just subjectively it's bad or boring to other people.
