Lana Del Rey has revealed that a stipulation in her will prohibits the release of posthumous music by the singer following her death.

It comes after Anderson .Paak recently shared a new tattoo he got with similar sentiments. “When I’m gone, please don’t release any posthumous albums or songs with my name attached,” the forearm tattoo reads. “Those were just demos and never intended to be heard by the public.”

Del Rey shared a screenshot of Anderson .Paak's tattoo in a post on her Instagram account.

I like this. Never understood the idea of posthumous music aside from financial gain of those in charge of estates. If an artist was happy with the work they would’ve released it themselves, theoretically. Go off miss girl

Good tbh, it always feels weird when they release songs without the artist's approval.

If I was an artist, I would put every single demo I have made in a hard drive and have a family member leak it all on google drive. :firega:

This is kinda funny, because all of her unreleased stuff are out there on the internet.

U can make like 5 albums out of all her unreleased material out there on the internet.

i think legally unless she had her will written with this in it BEFORE she signed to Interscope then it would be null and void. Because if her contract is like Gaga's then interscope will legally have ownership of any of her music she's recorded for her studio albums and in between; so this claus in her will would be legally null and void IF she were to pass away still under contract.
i.e if she resigned for 5 albums and passed before that was up; legally they have the right to make 5 whole albums worth of material into albums.

The only person a posthumous release worked for was Bowie because he had always intended them to be released so it was fine lmao
