They're almost certain it's the delta variant so they aren't f.ucking around with risking spread, because community spread would mean massive, long term lockdowns instead. Basically they'd prefer 3 days of lockdown and then return to no restrictions, than weeks/months of lockdowns and restrictions. Basically Aussie recently screwed around instead of acting fast and they're screwed over now, so we're aiming to avoid that mess and go back to life as normal fast.
