I remember crying tears of joy when I was given her debut album for my 10th bday. My lil gay heart!

Oooh, so you’re also an OG stan? I was 10 in 2004 when her first album came out too and used to jam to it on my brothers CD player. :enigma:

Since it is the same release date on spotify as her first two albums, I might opted to listen the latter more. I need to hear Leave in its original version again on streaming. That rerecording version just don't quite scratch the itch, sry.

Apparently the original recorded 2004 and 2006 albums will be on Spotify soon. I believe it was announced at the same time as Aaliyah’s discography going on Spotify.

Absolutely love JoJo. She’s a talented vocalist. There’s no doubt about it.
I still listen to “The High Road” almost weekly.
However, I feel all her recent releases are so same-y. I’m bored of her music. It’s usually Always slow RnB sounds

Also, to those looking forward to her first 2 (original) albums being available on streaming, JoJo has said herself that it will not benefit her at all. So try to listen to the re-recorded versions if possible

I guess most in here are too young to remember the power and success Jojo has with Leave and Little Too Late. This girl’s voice is phenomenal. Not really sure why her career didn’t continue taking off the way her debut did, but this girl is being slept on while other mediocre “artists” are getting praised left and right.

A good read as to why she disappeared from the GP for a while. I stuck by her through and through since the chaotic mess happened with her ex label.

She was held in limbo in contract woes when her former label went bankrupt. It was 7 whole years of legal battle before she can freed herself. That is why she can't seem to reach highest high again, or pick up from where she left off, most people forgotten about her.

Thank you for appreciating TALENT!

As for her recent releases, I guess everyone has their own taste but you have to remember she’s grown now and went thru a lot with her career so she was bound to change in many different ways with all that happening.

And yes, I agree about streaming the re-releases rather than the originals. It’s the same with Taylor. They both will benefit MUCH more if we stream the re-releases (which I plan on doing). I appreciate the re-releases way more because, yes, it’s still close to the original. But there is differences in them that are HER vision. And her voice and personality has matured so much since 2004-2006, so the content she sings about seems more personal since she’s an adult now.

There’s a bit more to it than that with her ex label. Apparently they were trying to force dieting injections and stuff like that to keep her “image” maintained. From interviews I watched and articles I read over the years, it sounds like that label was very abusive.
