Can we talk about the marketing tactic for Chromatica Remix

For a while many people thought the album was just elaborate trolling from Bloodpop and all the featured artists  But the truth is that this has been a real project since the beginning.

The fact that Blood and all the artists were ALLOWED to tease it so much over the course of the year was undoubtedly a marketing decision. Bobby could have easily chosen to keep things under wraps until this month. Think about how none of us knew about BTW re-imagined until it happened?

It's an interesting approach to market an album this way. Having these relatively underground/niche artists create the hype themselves isn't what you would expect because their followings are unquestionably smaller than Gaga's following. It's like.. Gaga could have hinted from her account but the fact it was coming from all these smaller artists made it seem more... underground? cool? mysterious? exciting? MYTHICAL??? 

The fact that we basically have the whole track list thanks to piecing together all the hints they've been dropping on us for MONTHS... and Gaga only just confirmed its existence recently. The fact that it's rumored to come out in a matter of days and there's been no official announcements.

For locals and casual fans this album is basically a surprise drop  For us stans we know so much. It's such an interesting project.

I get where you're coming from, but to me it just further enhanced the feeling that Gaga isn't invested (for whatever reason) in Chromatica (anymore)

Yea I get that too. I don't see it that way I guess I'm optimistic

I think this was good because it happened to rebuild that aura of intimacy between Little Monsters and the music makers - in this case, the artists featured in the remix album. It also caters to a different audience, broadening Gaga's impact in other genres and in pop culture, bringing something different to the stagnating plate.

Isn't it also what Gaga looks like wanting to do more lately? She said she wanted to guide Ariana and BlackPink through the music industry, giving them highlights (Sour Candy is literally a BlackPink song), now she's introducing queer, underground artists to the GP, even if in a little thing like a remix album. Even Little Monsters are starting to listen to those artists and to go past papapa popopopo music.

I enjoy that we got so much info throughout the process. But everyone kinda all talking about it at once last week just fell flat for me. Would have made a bit more sense to save all of that for the week it’s being released. Nonetheless pumped for it and excited we’ve gotten some insight as to what it will sound like, all while not really knowing much at all as a whole. Chromatica truly deserves this enhanced experience.

well, if you ask me, i don't think there's any tactic of marketing behind this, i think bloodpop, bobby and gaga just kind of went on the go with this, remember that this started because bloodpop frequently reply fans questions about the featurings and hence the interest of the project with the smaller artists following.

This didn't happen with the BTW remagined because there was no bloodpop teasing collabs and piecing things together on the go...

But yes i admit that the final result of everything has been kind of interesting, unique and funny.

i dont wanna be a debbie downer but i honestly believe both gaga and bobbie dont give a **** about this project  and do we actually finally have a release date

Great point! She did the same thing with BTW reimagined.

Even if Gaga doesn't, Bobby obviously cares. It's his job to care. That's wild to think otherwise.

Wrong because on that day BP already tagged Rina Sawayama right away, and revealed he contacted Charli XCX in late 2020.

the fact that she has remained silence doesn't mean she's not invested in the project, as the OP said maybe she just did it to maintain the info available just for fans and the release as a surprise to the GP.

But before doing these judgements let's just wait to the remix album to drop and see what she has to say about it.

yes, but i think he did because fans suggested or mention her before, and then he just confirmed it, he just likes to be on twitter and interact with ppl, of course they have the artists they wanted to work with beforehand
