I always saw live lobsters being sold in supermarkets around holidays, I have no idea how popular this is for private households in general, as my family doesn't eat them. I guess there's some market for it since they're still being sold though

It's quite rare, Christmas is pretty much the only time for it.

Oh yes, that's what I was talking about when I said holidays! They're not sold the rest of the year either.

Weird law, they are gonna end up in someone's plate in the end. If they care about being humane, they won't eat those fcking lobsters at all.

it's about respect for the animal you're hunting and eating, if i were to die and be eated to satisfy the food chain, i'd prefer it to be is the most quick and painless way possible

How are they going to check that when people cook lobsters at home though?

it's less likely that people will have living lobsters at home, unless they own an aquarium

Where I live they always sell them on the fish stand along with other fish, not an aquarium, so I guess people would just keep them in a fresh place once they bought it.

I don't eat any kind of seafood [allergic], but how else do you prepare a lobster to be consumed? Smashing the head? Putting it in the freezer to die of cold? I have never really wondered about this but now I'm intrigued

That's the same logic as saying when a dog gets too sick, instead of a lethal injection we should just burn them alive since they're just gonna end up dead in the end anyway.

No ones gonna stop eating lobsters anytime soon.

Do you feel him sir?

I don't eat dogs tho?  Weird example tbh

For foods, when I'm eating out, IDC about the journey, i.e: how the animal is killed etc etc, all I care is eating what is served on my table.  I feel full, I paid the bills, and the I leave the premise happy. Easy.

We live in such a meat normalized world, this oxymoron is too much to handle. :rip::toofunny:

Girl it's really not that hard to grasp. You could kill someone by chopping their head off or you could hammer a nail into every inch of their body and leave them to bleed to death for hours. It's obvious one method is better than the other, because the alternative is not killing and you know that ain't gonna happen.

Whether they feel pain or not, I wonder if they feel panic knowing that they're about to die

Unlike pain, panic is more of a secundary feeling. It isn't caused directly by a stimuli but is sort of a worrying state in regards to knowing what is to come and wanting to prevent it.. is a bit of a 'meta'-sentiment, so it's very hard to tell. If one wonders if they feel 'panic' as in a mix of confusion, pain and the desire to run away, that one is more likely.
