Experimental vs Hyperpop

Pabllo has collaborated with artists from the hyperpop scene, so they’re often associated with the group even though yes they don’t actually make that type of music. Same thing can be said about Kim Petras for example.

As a hardcore fan of both Hyperpop and Experimental electronic, I have to say Hyperpop is more experimental than people give it credit for, it’s meant to bridge mainstream “pop” with more underground hardcore electronic production and last time I checked experimental means something new or radical. Also people need to remember that hyperpop is a pretty boundless genre and it’s still in its early stages. That being said Hyperpop is definitely not Bjork,Arca,Aphex twin,Eartheater, Grimes and probably not even SOPHIE really. Going into the remix album for HyperHaters just keep an open mind and   Hyperpop/Experimental is definitely not for everyone so if u don’t like ur that’s fine but be respectful to the people that do

How are Grimes and SOPHIE not Hyperpop? Genuinely asking to understand.

EDIT: Grimes I think has a few Hyperpop tracks but I don't see much difference between SOPHIE and Dorian Electra tracks.

It could be argued that SOPHIE is the essence/creator of Hyperpop but really no one sounds like her and frankly most Hyperpop producers are just copycats of her sound , she was truly on another level and was way more polished than any other Hyperpop producers, there’s a level of art/sophistication in for example Facshopping that is lacking in Dorian’s entire discography.

as for Grimes, she is entirely different than Hyperpop, she is closer to Art pop and alternative , very much her own genre and most of her music is much darker and uses more organic instruments than hyperpop

I disagree about that, since hyperpop is such diverse community, there's artist like slayyyter and Ayesha got Y2K aesthetic, or people who inspired by j-pop cuteness (like PC Music.) Glitch and distorted aren't the only elements of hyperpop.

Maybe there're tons of **** that isn't as prominent as SOPHIE, and she do bring up new waves with stylistic metallic sound, but saying this is just like telling me that because Madonna is that bitch, so everyone who's after her trying to be different were just Modanna wannabe.
