Modern Islamists do not embrace extremism unless they live in the midst of an extremist Islamic nation. In the UK, the US, any of the free nations, many of Muslims carry with them a belief in growing with the times and being more inclusive. But in a post-9/11 world they have faced oppression from every turn and it had put their lives in danger. No innocent person deserves to die because of their religion, but with the rise of Islamaphobia this is what has happened. Muslims are beaten, spat on, and killed every day for nothing more than being a Muslim. You do not get to judge an entire group of people based on the actions of a few.
