Don't get it twisted: The majority of left-leaning and progressive people wanted the USA to leave Afghanistan, they were actually the loudest who heavily protested the USA's continuous presence in the Middle East (on the grounds of rejecting American Imperialism, the failed war on terror).

This surrendering has been co-signed by America across its entire political spectrum.

The problem is most ppl form opinions before truly understanding an issue in detail and on top of that (not saying this is ur case) get angry when challanged by someone who doesnt agree with them and has opposite opinion.

 

Ppl cant discuss things anymore and are so close minded and conditioned to see anyone with a difference of opinion as the enemy they wont even hear the other side properly and write it off as ignorant 

 

Polarized politics is ruining society, its always 1 side against another instead of debating pros and cons with an open mind without pride and seeing all valid sides and factors at play to reach a decision that has the most benefit on a net basis

 

I think to some extent the decision to pull out when they shouldnt have is a symptom of this and ppl forming opinions of stuff they only truly know maybe 30% of tbh

 

And im generalizing society as a whole. Im not necessairily saying ur prideful and ignorant too when it comes to politics as i know nothing about you , im just ranting in general cuz i hate how narrow minded ppl in general are when it comes to politics

They were useless 20 years ago and they're just as useless now. They were never going to be able to support themselves especially when the Taliban sympathizers in the army willingly "surrender" or sabotage. It was right to get out now, but there were honestly no good options. We can't just make them a US territory & no one in this day and age wants a colony.

 Leaving is popular throughout the US on both ends of the spectrum. Americans wanted us to leave & so we did. Biden is just fulfilling the will of the people, and Trump was too.
