But honestly, what choices does he really have? He could have made sure evacuations of US personnel were finished beforehand, but that wouldn't have changed the outcome. Biden had 2 choices; he could follow through on Trumps agreement with the Taliban to withdraw from the country or go back on it and start another large scale conflict. What are we supposed to do at this point? Invade the country, overthrow the Taliban, install a new government and train a new army? Feels an awful lot like deja vu. Most people in the US don't hold grudges. If Afghanistan people could hold free elections and there wasn't the threat of terrorism we would have left them alone years ago. Democracy is the goal here, not profiting from the military industrial complex or having private investors benefit from the insurmountable amount of debt the US has had thanks to the war efforts. Democracy is the goal, a totally humanitarian goal that finds its origin in the United States' large humanitarian heart. Not installing puppet regimes disguising as "free democracies" with the sole objective of further developing US hegemony in the world. Yes, yes. There is no islamophobia in the US. Not one bit. One of Trump's major policies was just that - a policy. It had nothing to do with islamophobia. Nothing, I tell you.
