TaylorSwift 162,328 Posted August 14, 2021 Share Posted August 14, 2021 Poland's president has decided to sign a bill that will make it harder for Jewish people to recover property lost during and after World War Two. Israel has recalled its diplomatic envoy to Warsaw over the changes, branding the law "anti-Semitic". The legislation relates to claims on property stolen by Nazi Germany, then seized by Poland's communist regime. The bill sets a 30-year limit for restitution claims. As most happened soon after the war, many outstanding claims will now be blocked. Poland continues with their hateful behavior, if it's to LGBTQ+ and now to the holocaust survivors. The amended provisions will only apply to administrative proceedings, including reprivatisation proceedings. They will not affect civil proceedings aimed at obtaining compensation for unlawfully seized property. It should be strongly emphasised once again that the new regulations do not in any way restrict the possibility of bringing civil suits to seek damages, irrespective of the plaintiff’s nationality or origin. Poland is by no means responsible for the Holocaust, an atrocity committed by the German occupant also on Polish citizens of Jewish origin.
