Most people expected a Save Your Tears/Savage/Say So kind of remix :smh: they're in for a ride...

This is what I feel like based on the reactions to the snippets. These songs are not going to be the typical remixes.

I already know that this album won’t be it for me. It’s fine because Sawayama’s FW remix and HL Babylon will be enough.

It's going to be very Kelela's 'TMA' meets 100 gecs project (remixes) me thinks

But now they are doing the same for being too experimental.

there are a lot of ways of being experimental, my god is such a broad term, i'm sorry but i'm not buying speedcore electronic music, off putting pitch, and roughly produced kick and snare drums, but who knows, let's see how are really the final version of the remixes

This album is gonna have a little bit of everything and that’s fun. They’re experimenting with several different artists and sounds and seems there’s no boundaries so it’s gonna be an interesting project.

I love these genres of Electronic music idk why I'm so surprised to see Gaga embracing it. She's always the first to something new (even tho these aren't exactly new)

She might be the artist to break this style through to the Main GP & I hope she's successful with it we need a new reset/refresh and I love these artists in the remix album

But where is Sonikku :neyde:

Yes there are many ways of being experimental. But everything you said is your opinion. For example the “rough” kick and snare drums just have distorted sounds to add a heavier effect. It doesn’t mean is actually rough (or badly produced).

You’re talking to a fanbase that was turned off by Jewels N’ Drugs. They want Gaga to go experimental but the moment she goes a little out of the box they’re all like “buT i wAnT daRk pOp tFm soNgz”.

Personally, I don't like Jewels N Drugs is because it clashes with the other tracks from ARTPOP that I usually play. As to why I sometimes skip Dope for example. With the Chromatica remix, I am expecting it to sound loud, abrasive, hard-hitting and that is exactly what I got fron the snippets. I'm a bit iffy though on the rumored 1000 Doves remix, cause just like JND and Dope, it's an outlier atm.

REALITY

I think it's going to test how many people here legitimatley want an "experimental" album. People here say that all the time, but when push comes to shove, they actually hate when Gaga goes "experimental."

yes you're right, it is an opinion but it's what i can tell from the snipped, i actually am a big junkie for EBM, industrial, aggrotech and dark electro, i love loud and heavy as metal electronic music, but this just isn't it for me, the loudness is not the problem, it really sounds poorly produced, it sounds like a joke.
however, it's just a snippet, i have to listen to the whole final and polished thing to really have an opinion about it.

Perhaps experimental for LG standards. But it’s shaping up to sound like some run of the mill hyper-pop. The fact is that some people just can’t handle the aggressive tones in some of this stuff, it’s a sensory nightmare. Also worth mentioning that there is hyper-pop music that manages to capture the energy of the genre, without slamming filters on and distorting every instrument to the point of being bitcrushed  eardrum assault. I’m gonna give it an honest and open minded listen either way.

Specifically excited for LSDXOXO, Ashnikko (well balanced and produced hyperpop), Rina and whatever we have brewing for 1000 Doves. Also anything Babylon is automatically a yup

Poor them... it's their problem, though :deadbanana: I hope they won't take it against the artists. If they don't like a remix, they can skip it until they find one that they actually enjoy, or just play HL version of Babylon and be quiet about it :ally:

Sine of the songs are not even hyper pop. Some from Above is hard-style.

I don't think we should consider this as Gaga being experimental when the producers have to work with the lyrics and vocals that I think wouldn't translate properly well to this genre. It'll be interesting if she does do one in the future though.

I know I'm not ready for it. I wasn't expecting anything too experimental. But I'm open minded and will listen and give it the streams because I want to like it and I find that with some experimental music once you've got past several listens something switches in your brain and you suddenly start to realise the songs you thought were flops are actually bops.
