Lil Nas X is making headlines as an openly gay hip hop artist, while one of the biggest streaming forces in hip hop was making headlines for being homophobic. It‘s not too far off to think someone would ask Lil Nas X that. And his response was the best thing he could possibly say. It's really not. Does he have to be asked this question after every homophobe in hip hop says something homophobic? And it's a super privileged question because the reporter doesn't understand the hip hop artists have been killed over feuds for less. His art says enough. Girl, stop looking for a fight. It's getting tiresome how you follow me looking for a fight. Lil Nas X literally stated his safety as the reason. He doesn't have to put his safety at risk for my opinion. I don't understand your comment. Are you taking my side saying he should try to educate DaBaby? Are you mad because he is silent? Lately I feel like your rants are for the sake of just ranting. They don't make any sense. TimisaMonster 31,073
Wow...this is a complete 180 from the trolling young flamboyant artist we saw just a few weeks ago... I'm sure he has been getting vivid and disturbing death threats by supporters of DaBaby...both famous and fans...he's been really quiet lately which isn't usually the case... However, it's sad to see how gang affiliated and violent the hip hop community still is...so many artists have been killed over the decades over stupid fueds... It's also just as sad to see how he now feels he has to choose his words carefully and not speak on such a serious topic...one he's been flaunting VERY openly so he must have gotten some seriously stern warnings... Both of them were talking about supporting the gay community long before many other big name rappers were talking about it. Both of them in 2012 in the run up to the Supreme Court's decision on gay marriage were two of the only voices who publicly championed it and both took major flack for it and didn't once back down. Jay Z is even a 2 time GLAAD Award recipient. Just because they didn't say something in this particular instance should not erase the fact that they were out here supporting us at a time where their careers could've been ended by the rap audience and their fellow rappers. HardlyaSaint 727
22 hours ago, KanyeWest said: Where were their support then? Where was Jay Z, Eminem, Nas, Kendrick Lamar etc etc? They are not man enough to defend someone because they are scared of being called gay. Because apparently if you defend someone from the gay community u become gay thats how childish and sick the mentality is in hip hop. They all act like they are so welcoming and kind of everyone but the minute they could speak out for someone or even just silently support someone with a small gesture, they don't do it. Eminem especially, he always talkin bout oh no no i dont hate gays, no i regret, well where are u? You shoudl talk about it, talk about homophobia in hip hop. Thats why in many ways Lil nas x shouldnt even do it, it's the straight male rappers who should, and especially the most respected ones Jay z has paid respects to his mother who’s gay/bi(?) in a song before. He’s also married to Beyoncé. Enough said there. I won’t debate that the majority of the rape game has been generally lacking in regards to moral and individual respect but a lot of them believe that it’s part of hip hop culture. They’ll realize sooner than later it’s not cool to piss on someone because of their sexuality. Times are a changing. For now — Instead of naming off artists that don’t constantly show their support in the LGBT why not give spotlight to the ones that do and let the others die out of the way of mass attention? logic-/-execution.
