TaylorSwift 162,409
Geometric Energy Corporation (GEC), a Canadian startup that provides technology services, said it's making space advertising possible with the help of SpaceX. CEO of GEC, said the company is in the process of building a satellite, called a CubeSat. One side of the satellite will have a pixelated display screen where the advertisements, logos, and art will appear. The company plans to load the CubeSat on to a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. Once in orbit, a selfie-stick attached to the side of the CubeSat will film the display screen. This footage will be livestreamed on YouTube or Twitch so anyone can tune in to watch the satellite's screen. A SpaceX Falcon 9 rideshare is scheduled for June 1, 2022 source source https://store.taylorswift.com

Well i think it is justified. Too much consumption is the core issue of environemntal problems  Even if u do stuff differently with green energy or what not. Theres always a footprint in its own way.
berlinforme 5,385
So... essentially they are playing a video on a satellite's display and streaming it to certain services? Like... just a very expensive regular advertisement? I thought they were gonna project giant ads to the sky and was already like "Wow, what a late-capitalism dystopia!" Helxig 45,336
This makes me sick. Billionaires wasting their money on a pissing match of who can do the most in space first, while trying to make more money, and polluting space with more worthless junk. Dystopian future here we come I'll be myself until they fƫcking close the coffin.
