How do you think Gaga could improve as an artist?

I would say she should go back to writing songs just by herself and maybe one other songwriter, ala her earlier career. It, to me, would feel more...authentic, I guess? Have more integrity? This is just my opinion, btw, not here for a debate, but this is an example of what I mean:

From Sine From Above:

"The track was written by Gaga, Michael Tucker, Elton John, Axel Hedfors, Johannes Klahr, Rami Yacoub, Richard Zastenker, Ryan Tedder, Sebastian Ingrosso, Benjamin Rice, Vincent Pontare and Salem Al Fakir, and produced by BloodPop®, Burns, Axwell, Johannes Klahr and Liohn."

compared with...

"Poker Face" is a song written by Lady Gaga, and producer RedOne "

"Bad Romance" is a single which is sung and written by Lady Gaga, with the help of RedOne"

"Speechless" is song written...by Lady Gaga"

"Diamond Heart" is a song written by Lady Gaga"

^THAT to me has more artistic integrity then TWELVE writers on one single song. It makes it seem more insincere and more of a product. Just my opinion.

To be fair, SFA was originally written by Axel for Elton John years before it came anywhere near Gaga.

And we know she's super generous with writing credits. She gave RedOne a credit in Gypsy just because she referenced Scheiße ("don't speak German but I try") :laughga:

But yeah, I would LOVE to see her fully write and produce her own stuff. Venus is 🤌 and the songs she has the most involvement in are always the best ones.

Billionaires are a cancer. Even the ones you like.

i would love gaga to produce whole record just by herself and not in a piano stripped way

btw. wasn't perfect illusion written before she split with taylor? anyway, it's clearly about the public, especially the bridge

"where were you
'cause I can't see
but I feel you watchin' me
mistaken for love
dilated, falling free
in a modern ecstasy"

+music video with her singing in a big crowd "it wasn't love, it was a perfect illusion" for her first real single after ARTPOP

red wine, cheap perfume and a filthy pout

by writing more of her material herself or with another artist in a more intimate collaboration.

that's true, but take into consideration that other artists are also super generous in return... Gaga also got a writing credit for adding a few lines

I was going to say this as well. We have proof (your list + don't forget Yoü&I as well) that she can do it, so I would love for her to really trust herself and go all the way and make an album without any co-writers. If Taylor can do it (Speak Now), so can Gaga.

Another thing would be to practice more piano again (like she said in 2014, that she would like to get to practicing more again. Maybe she did, maybe she didn't, we don't know, because she didn't refer to it anymore after that). Her taking on more piano again would also help her with the hypothetical completely self-written album.

After all, she's still one of the greatest artists for me and definitely the best full package and all-round artist there is :)

I agree with everyone else that she needs to go back to just her in a room with 1 or 2 other producers. Venus is a masterpiece so I wish she had more faith in her own production skills and put out a record that is mainly her.

Also I think it would be amazing if she tapped more into her skills as a classical pianist. Sure she may not have the same technique as when she was younger and training constantly. but imagine how amazing it would be to have her incorporate more complex and beautiful piano pieces into her music. It’s something I don’t see others doing and she would absolutely kill it.

Remixing her older hits in tours and changing the choreography.

I was sad when I went to the Joanne tour and found that her old hits sounded just as they did in the Born This Way Ball. I do not like to compare Gaga to Madonna because it has been so overdone but Madonna remixes all her songs and changes the choreography for every tour.

Uh no I want the original not some second rate remix

Thissssss. I once had a dream that Gaga put on a show in some fancy opera house in NYC and it was just her, a piano and a full orchestra. It was basically like this.

Oh and she donated the money to charity!!

I think she could improve herself (just a little, she improved a lot from her early days and I'm happy with how she is now) by doing what she wants without listening to what the fans think they need: experimenting with genres and basically saying "this is what I want, love it or hate it, I don't care".

About Sine From Above: the original track written (MELODICALLY) in 2012 was just an idea intended for Elton John. Lyrics and title came from Gaga.

I like the suggestion made by a couple of people that she could try to improve her level as a pianist. It's a solid suggestion.

Acting is now a major part of her artistry, and she can improve there simply by doing more movies and gaining more experience. I thought she was great in ASIB, but she still has her L-plates up and must have scope for improvement.

Between acting and Haus Labs, she has moved away from music a bit. She clearly hasn't abandoned it or decided that she hates it, but if you are now doing three jobs instead of one, then you have by definition moved away a bit from the original one. She has it in her to make an album which will leave every other singer/songwriter on the planet with little option other than to hand in their musician cards. I believe that will happen someday, but not in the immediate future. Right now, I hope she concentrates on what makes her happy personally and professionally.

Incidentally, here we are talking about how she can improve as an artist just a few days after two concerts where she got rave reviews, and which were professionally filmed and are likely to take Netflix by storm in a month or two.

I would love her music to match the energy of her coachella intro/interludes. They're always so badass!

Yes :vegas:

MJ performed the exact same Billie Jean routine from 1984 to 2009. Know why? It's iconic.

Same thing with Gaga and her biggest hits. They need to remain pristine :legend:

Yes.

And I agree with those who say she should write more of her songs herself, both music and lyrics.  I'm sure she's capable of that, if she wants to do it.

I live outside the space time continuum.
