Broadway shows run 8 performances every week. Evening performances Tuesday – Saturday, Sunday matinee, and Tuesday/Saturday matinees. Why would she take that on at this point in her career?
She has such a big life. She's a legend in the music world and an Academy Award nominated actress with a highly anticipated new movie. I think that concerts, her next album, and movies would have far more appeal to her creative soul.

... nah, I think this is the right moment. She's clearly serious about her acting career, she's choosing her projects very carefully and I think theatre would be a natural next step. I'd rather see her shine on Broadway than as some forgettable Marvel or Disney villain like so many here are asking for.

This would be great for her personally and professionally. It further expands her legacy by showing she can deliver as a musical theater actress. Plus, she'll get to stay in New York near family for awhile.
