"Jake Gyllenhaal says “more and more [he] finds bathing to be less necessary, at times”: “I believe that good manners and bad breath get you nowhere. So I do that. But I think there’s a whole world of not bathing that is helpful for skin maintenance, we naturally clean ourselves.”

It’s a known fact that the average person does not need to shower with shampoo everyday..? It’s not good for your skin

I feel like that's why so many guys with long hair have such damaged hair. That or they don't condition. Or both.

Why is this something that I’ve heard time and time again with celebrities? It’s almost seemingly common amongst their community.

They sound like they've been brainwashed by some hippie vegan guy that goes around Hollywood making celebrities think human bodies can exist purely on photosynthesis or something

We naturally clean ourselves? Must be nice to be rich and famous that everyone ignores your bad BO.

Also must be nice not to live in Florida.

Amen floridians take 1 step into the humidity and already need a shower in 5 mins:messga:

REALITY

Is it just me, or is this line of thinking becoming more and more common these days? I was on Instagram the other day and I saw this post about a celebrity couple (I forgot who) who said that they don't bathe or shower their children and all the comments were like, "Well, they're not wrong," or "Yeah, I don't bathe or shower either", and they were getting like hundreds and thousands of likes. I was shocked tbh. I was just always raised to shower everyday, but maybe that's just me????

He has a point. When you take a shower and use certain types of soap every day, it can dry and affect your skin. Same with showering you hair every day, it takes away some essential natural oils.

Although it's important to bath when you sweat or when you've been all day outside exposed to pollutant agents. But if you stay home during lockdowns, I don't find a problem not showering for one or two days.

Sure but I use an oil foam body cleanser for that reason, so my skin is always soft and it doesn't strip the skin too much. I also sometimes mix olive oil with my cleanser, yeah sounds weird but it keeps my skin so soft. I don't think I could stop taking a shower for 2 days, but 2 days is okay. But I think these celebs are talking about showering once a week, which is a bit much, but it's their lives they do what they want
