Bill Gates says Epstein meetings were a huge mistake

Bill Gates has admitted he made "a huge mistake" in spending time with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Gates told CNN he had "several dinners" about a philanthropy project that did not emerge, and should not have given him "credibility".
"I had several dinners with him, you know, hoping that what he said about getting billions of philanthropy for global health through contacts that he had might emerge.
"When it looked like that wasn't a real thing, that relationship ended."
 "It was a huge mistake to spend time with him, to give him the credibility of being there."

Epstein hanged himself in jail in 2019 while awaiting a sex-trafficking trial.

Mr Gates also discussed his divorce with Melinda French Gates, he said she was "a great person, and that partnership that we had coming to an end is a source of great personal sadness".
