Future Lovers 6,926
We all have artists that we just don’t vibe with, but I think in many cases even if we’re not fans, we can find something about them that we can respect. What are things that you respect about artists that you don’t like? For me: Mariah - I hold a lot of respect for what she’s been able to achieve in her career. She was a force at her peak that few could stand against and even now, she has many songs that are iconic parts of music history which is impressive. And of course her voice. Xtina - I respect her willingness to try on different styles and vibes rather than just replaying the same old formula. And again, the voice of course. Camila - I love how in touch she is with her heritage and her latin roots. It’s really cool to me to see her expressing that culture in her music and visuals and it’s cool to see how proud of it she is. How about you guys? badfaith 5,715
Taylor - She is an incredible songwriter and I like how she like almost has a game with her fans with all her symbolisms and easter eggs. Ed - I love +, Songs I Wrote With Amy, and few songs in Divide and X.
Glamourpuss 29,062
Miley - She seems like someone who stays true to themselves and only does something if it feels right to them. After Hannah Montana she had to work harder to change her image and find her place in the music industry. I think she's found her genre with Plastic Hearts and covers of songs like Heart of Glass and Zombie.

StrawberryBlond 14,878
Taylor Swift - Multi-talented at playing instruments (she can play acoustic guitar, piano, banjo and ukulele), writes all her own songs (the vast majority of them completely on her own), her songwriting has improved immensely (I wasn't overly impressed until last year) and has an incredible work ethic who never stops making music (although she's been overdoing it of late). Katy Perry - She writes all her own work, plays her own instruments and likes to keep her young at heart persona even as she's getting older. Beyonce - While her voice doesn't always do it for me she can still hold a tune and she has great energy when dancing along and has one of the most overwhelming amount of presence and star power aura about her. I'm sure that even I would be starstruck if I met her. Justin Bieber - Writes all his own music and plays multiple instruments. Ed Sheeran - Writes all his own songs and can make very moving work when he writes from the heart (check out The A Team, Even My Dad Does Sometimes and Supermarket Flowers if you want a good cry) and still keeps up his acoustic guitar even when he went more pop and never forgets where he came from. Chris Brown - In the words of ToddInTheShadows: "In terms of singing, Chris Brown is a really good dancer." It's also worth noting that even though I'm not into the majority of modern rappers, it's really just their actual songs I'm not into. Their actual rapping skills are normally on point for the most part and I applaud their quick wit, puns, flow and outstanding memory. I just wish the songs they actually put their talent into were better.
