TheSlash 14,539
The longer, the better . But the tracks have to be engaging to listen to. If half of the 20 tracks are filler or excruciatingly boring, I would've been OK with 10 tracks. For example, look at Billie's new album: 16 tracks, 56 minutes. For someone enjoying Billie's music, it doesn't feel like an hour and the tracks are actually not boring . Same goes with BTW (even tho it's an older album). The deluxe goes for 1h 14min and doesn't even try to be boring . Ew, David!
RichAssPiss 4,872
Songs keep getting shorter and albums keep having more songs to generate higher song stream counts to pad the streaming album equivalent units. It's very transparent and purely business driven. Makes for really messy chaotic "albums."

Wet Fire 7,001
Sit your ass down and listen to whatever the artist has to offer. This too long/too short drama is so pointless. If it's too long, break the listening into two sessions lol.
whoresup 2,334
I would’ve said this in 2011-2016 maybe but not now, instead I think they’re getting too short

sillynate 6,170
Ten years ago albums had 12-16 songs and were from 50 to 65 minutes long these days there’s 15-20 tracks and it’s 30 to 45 minutes long because songs themselves are part of what I call the 2:59 & Under Club. So they can fit more songs yet still keep it short. albums have decreased in runtime but increased in track length 2:59 & Under Club playlist I made on Spotify last year: Spoiler I haven’t updated this playlist in months because I switched to Apple after Gaga Radio and I use it more especially now with lossless, but there’s like at least a hundred songs in here, none of which cross 3 minutes:

FATCAT 59,855
Gaga albums are getting shorter and shorter, that SHOULD be the concern here smh This kitten over here (meow)
BlondeQueenOfGGD 25,454
Imo the perfect album is 10 tracks, and no longer than 40 minutes
PartySick 153,849
Please My favorite album 30 songs and runs for 2.5hrs (HIStory by MJ, though half of the songs are part of a greatest hit collection, the other half is still 15 songs with over an hour's runtime). The fact that Gaga's latest album has two less songs than the actual HIStory album (not counting interludes) but half the duration is so beyond depressing. Anyone who wants "minimalism" in music is a fool give me a fleshed out concept that spans multiple tracks or f*cking keep it tbh. An album should be a cohesive and thoughtful work with each song being a moving part that lends itself to the overarching theme. Short albums can accomplish this (see Chromatica) but it's not nearly as satisfying imo. 🧡The blindfold's off my eyes, all I see for me is better days🧡
Putang Ina Mo 2,119
Too long? We had songs that lasts for 3½ minutes to 5 minutes before, but now most songs lasts for 2½ minutes to 3mins max because of the streaming era and the current generation's attention span. my username says it all 🇵🇭
